Mayor of Georgetown killed!
Author: Pierre Vixou
In the early hours of Wednesdays morning our dear, now deceased, citizen Mayor Rene Antoine has been killed by unknown perpetrators. Witnesses are pointing fingers at the United States again. Is Tanoan better off without Americans?
Tanoa - a failed democracy?
Despite the best effort of the Tanoan-American partnership Mayor of Georgetown Rene Antoine has been killed in cold blood. During the Mayor's speech on the evening of Tuesday 8th, onlookers had no idea what horror Mr. Antoine would face the following morning. Mayor Antoine, while protected by one of the Special Forces team of the US, has been shot in the head by a sniper rifle.
A few blocks away, a number of what appears to be kidnapped civilians have been executed by firearms as well. We are unaware if these two acts of crime are linked or not as the US has not yet released a statement.
Witnesses on the scene have seen several masked gunmen dressed in black rapidly leaving the scene. We will be pushing the police and the US to answer questions as to who these individuals are and what their motives are. At this point we can do nothing else but wonder -
are we still protected by the US?
Tanoan future with America
The Tanoan-American partnership was establishedunder the government of ex-PM Charles Warren whois now facing corruption and treason charges at theSpecial National Criminal Court of Justice. Warren, astern advocate of US aid, has left behind adestabilized, corrupt country that must now make itsown decisions.
As Tanoa is starting to stand up on itsown, the parliament is starting to wonder whetherkeeping American combat soldiers in our sovereignterritory is the right decision. As more and morenationalist ideas are born in the House, we mustwonder if the US is really here to stay as more andmore scandals are being linked with theirinvolvement.
